Who We Are

Frank Kusmer - Born and raised in Illinois, Frank was deeply influenced by his father’s entrepreneurial spirit and family values. His father was a real estate developer so he understands the work ethic and drive required to be successful in a private business. Frank has a BBA from Simon Fraser University. Over the past 35 years he has experience in senior management, project management, strategy development, business brokerage and debt financing for over the past 15 years. Frank places a strong emphasis on transparency, analytical accuracy and bottom line results. 

Vicki Sawyer - Vicki has an Honours BBA from Wilfred Laurier University. She was born and raised in Canada and formerly worked as a mortgage broker. She also worked in originations for a direct private lender, securing debt financing for commercial and multifamily developments. Her expertise at real estate fundraising allowed projects to proceed which would otherwise have had no traditional sources open to them. Her attention to detail and commitment to excellence provides a solid foundation clients have come to trust and rely upon.

As financial intermediaries with extensive direct lender relationships throughout North America, we see a lot of funding requests.

This experience for over 15 years makes all the difference in helping our clients secure debt financing. We know which lenders are best able to close on competitive terms. We also know the pitfalls to avoid that kill deals, including long closings, overly high fees, lenders backing out, unrealistic loan requests and uncooperative borrowers. If we can’t help with your loan request we will tell you up front.

Our clients are primarily in the U.S. We keep things simple and confidential while providing an objective view of your loan requirements. We explain what you can expect and do everything we can to keep the loan process moving. Our success fees are fair, backed by our lenders and are normally listed in the Term Sheet. 

FAQ's

Do you work with agents and brokers? Yes, if you are direct to the borrower (no agent chains), willing to cooperate fully and split success fees please contact us. 

Do you work on Canadian loans?  Yes, please contact us with your loan requirements. 

Do you work on loans outside of North America? Only on deals involving operating companies owned by a US legal entity. No real estate deals.   

Where are our lenders located?  Most are in the U.S., others in Canada.  

What are Equasis' fees?  Our fees are fully success based. Contact us for more information.      

Are there any up front fees? We do not have up front fees. Lenders typically have standard due diligence deposits and lender points.  

Is confidentiality protected?  Yes confidentiality is protected, including using non-disclosure agreements when necessary.
